Permaculture design is all about planning. Starting with a high level macro homestead layout we determined appropriate locations for site elements based off efficient relationships. Once the elements had a location on the site we were able to move onto creating a surface water management plan that would slow, spread and sink the nearly 1 million gallons of water that flow through the 5 acre site per year.
